Then Stole Her Keys And Lived In The Victim’s Apartment With The Remains

A woman brutally murdered and tortured a 93-year-old woman in her Syracuse, New York, apartment.

Now, “justice was served.

A judge in New York recently accepted a guilty plea by Victoria Afet. She pleaded in connection to the killing of Connie Tuori at the Skyline apartment. The court sentenced her to 29 years to life in prison for the murder and other charges.

According to Spectrum News, Afet was arrested and charged for the February 2021 killing of Tuori. The elderly woman was found dead in her skyline apartment about three weeks after her death.

A surveillance video showed Afet following Tuori into her home to commit the robbery and murder, according to Spectrum News.

Police believed that Afet took Trori’s keys and started to live in the apartment after the murder, FrontPageDetectives previously reported.

Afet has a lengthy criminal history, including the robbery of another person in the same apartment complex. The killer could only say a few words to the victim’s family as she recently stood in a courtroom for sentencing.

“I would like to apologize to the family of Connie Tuori,” Afet said, according to WSTM.

Tuori’s nephew, Tom, spoke for the family during the sentencing. He said they never want to see Afet back on the streets.

“No one here today and not even Ms. Afet knows the horror and intense suffering that consumed Connie’s last few minutes of life,” Tom Tuori said, according to WSTM. “But we need to consider those last few minutes to try and understand the impact on Connie. I hope, and my family hopes that Ms. Afet is haunted by those last few minutes of our aunt’s life.

Other family members said that Afet could not take back what she did.

“She changed our family’s life and changed the life of everyone involved in this case,” said Owen Tuori, the victim’s great nephew, according to WSTM. “She is a monster who deserves to spend the rest of her life in jail.”
