It was pomp recently in Lagos as ace Fuji musician, Alhaji Abass Akande, aka Obesere, ace actor, producer/Director, Adebayo Salami, aka Oga Bello and elder brother of popular MC Oluomo, General Manager of the Lagos Parks and Garrages Management, Alhaji Yaya Akinsanya among other dignitaries celebrated the founder of the Ayinke-Ade foundation, Alhaja Taofikat Ayinke Bello Atiko, on the occasion of the first year anniversary and official Nigerian launching of the foundation.

The historic event took place at the
Yard 158 event Centre, Kudirat Abiola way, Oregun, Ikeja Lagos, and had in attendance many less privileged Nigerians, especially pupils of some primary schools and young students of higher institutions who have benefitted hugely from the humanitarian works carried out by the NGO in the last one year.

Adding colour to the occasion was the fact that it fell on June 5, 2022 which incidentally was the birthday of the founder.

While the dignitaries poured endless encomiums on the founder and birthday girl in appreciation for her compassionate gesture in reaching out to the poor to assist the government in finding and equipping education in Nigeria, Alhaja Ayinke in her speech gave the inspiration behind her philanthropy and urged the overnment and relevant stakeholders to support her humanitarian efforts.

She said: “I welcome you all to the making of yet another significant history in our nation. Today is the official launching of the Ayinke-Ade Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that is founded with a major aim of assisting the government in Nigeria in the area of ensuring that our kids and youths of humble backgrohnds are given functional education.

Our  goal in this respect is mainly inspired by the position of the United Nations (UN) on the need to make education available for all, irrespective of social status, religious and or cultural background.

According to the UN, Education is the basic building block of every society. It is the single best investment countries can make to build prosperous, healthy and equitable societies. “

It was in this light that Article 26 of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that “Everyone has the right to education.” But sadly, today, 57 million children remain out of school. And the UN insists that Education is not only a right, but a passport to human development that opens doors and expands opportunities and freedoms.

The Ayinke-Ade foundation is dedicated to selfless service to humanity with special consideration for the pupils and youths needing functional education but who are being denied or would be denied that by circumstances beyond their control, which is mainly poverty or poor background.

“We are also in particular, concerned about re-equipping public facilities for the purpose of assisting our government at all levels in meeting the needs of our people, especially at the grassroots
We are also in support of the advocacy by stakeholders for government’s support for NGOs that are making selfless efforts to ensure that education is available for all and making the lives of less privileged better.

As you all are aware, Nigeria is one of the unfortunate nations where abject poverty is palpable owing to harsh economic situation of the country. There are orphans, widows and many unemployed people everywhere and the population of this wretched of the earth is more than 90 percent of the population of the entire country.

” The poverty in Nigeria is so palpable that more than 95 percent of our kids have been dropped out of school due to lack of funds by their parents to sponsor their education. This sad reality majorly informed the birth of this foundation.

When we joy our hands together to ensure the aims and objectives of this NGO, l can assure you that in no time, our Nigerian society will benefit hugely as there would no longer be miscreants being used to rig elections, hoodlums who cause chaos on our streets, and other law breakers who constitute societal nuisance because they are not educated.”

Other dignitaries who graced the occasion included a reputable lslamic musician,
Alhaji Wasiu Sodiq and the chairman of Alberchin herbal roots, among others.
