Somolu Elderly Citizens in their large numbers filled to the brim, once again trooped out to the Local Government Banquet Hall and its premises, where they received the 1500 welfare packages for the month of September.
The Pioneer and the Executive Chairman of the same locale, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu has prioritized the welfarism of his people through this consistent initiative, as part of his commitment from the onset.
The Vice Chairman, Hon. Adekunle Ekiyemi who commenced the programme on behalf of the host, eulogized both the elderly men and women for entrusting in the Council Helmsman, their firm belief of inestimable values and found him worthy of reelection into office for another dispensation.
In addition, the duo of Hon. Mariam Salawu (Chairperson) and Deacon Femi Adebiyi Taiwo (Erstwhile APC LGA Chairman) reassured the citizens of it’s sustainability, as it undoubtedly remained a top priority and for the well being of somolu people. The latter then urged all to be persistent and open-minded so as to join hands in moving somolu to more greater heights.
Meanwhile, Hon. Oladipo Freeman (HOD, Agric and Social Services) who also double as the Acting Council Manager emphasized that the 5years old monthly programme is also extended to orphans and vulnerable children in the community who aren’t chanced to partake during the present one, but have the utmost opportunity afterwards.
With respect to the series of interviews conducted thereupon, the abiding beneficiaries appraised the relentless Council Boss for always endeavouring to put smile on their faces and the organizers for their orderliness.
The evenly distribution witnessed the presence of Hon. Abdul-Lateef Muibi, Hon. Abdul-Lateef Ashimi, Hon. Tunde Oyeyiola James, Hon. Omofolarin Adegbite, Hon. Kingsley Ihenyen, (Councillors, Somolu Legislative Council), Hon. Olubiyi Folarin (Chief of Staff); Prince Sodiq Adeeso (DG, Dullar Continua Initiative); Hon Olumide Akinola and Hon. Adewale Oseni (Former Supervisory Councillors), Hon. Abiola Fashoro (Erstwhile APC LGA Woman Leader); Hon. Rasak Tajudeen and Comrade Raheem Afees (Former Special Advisers), Alhaji Tella Tajudeen (Treasurer, CDC), Alhaja Kudirat Adetoye, Alhaja Alausa, Apex Women Leaders among others, who all ensured conformity throughout.
