Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has approved the appointment of His Royal Highness, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye, as the new Oloro of Oro, a Second Class monarch in the Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Bata, the announcement was made following the completion of all due processes.
Oba Titiloye, a Canada-based cultural promoter, is expected to bring a new era of growth and development to the Oro Kingdom with his appointment. The statement also noted that the presentation of the staff of office would take place on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
Governor Abdulrazaq has also approved the appointment of His Royal Highness, Oba Adebayo Olanrewaju Ismail, as the Gbamoyin of Jimba Oja, a Fourth Class monarch in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has extended warm congratulations to His Royal Highness, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye, on his appointment as the new Oloro of Oro Kingdom.
In a statement signed by Council Chairman Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed and Secretary Mahmood Olayinka Alaya, the NUJ praised the selection of Oba Titiloye, describing him as a dynamic and forward-thinking leader. The NUJ expressed that the choice of this young monarch reflects a progressive vision for the kingdom.
The council also commended Governor Abdulrazaq for his commitment to empowering young leaders, acknowledging that his focus on youth leadership has fostered a new generation of capable and innovative leaders, ensuring a promising future for the state and its traditional institutions.
Furthermore, the NUJ pledged its full support and cooperation to the new Oloro in his efforts to lead the Oro Kingdom into a prosperous era. They reaffirmed their readiness to work closely with him in promoting cultural heritage, community development, and the well-being of the people.
