
Paramount Ruler bags royal father award

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade 1, has urged graduands of the Bàptist Ciolege of Theology, Oyo to carry the values of theological excellence, doctrinal and ministerial faithfulness wherever they go , and to let their lives be salt and light, so that Oyo and Nigeria as a whole can be proud of the fruits borne from the sacred institution.
Oba Owoade gave the admonition today at the 47th graduation ceremony of the Bàptist College of Theology , Oyo.
He stated that at a time when the world is searching for moral clarity , spiritual integrity , and compassionate leadership, the significance of the institution cannot be overstated.
“Baptist College of Theology is not only equipping men and women spiritually and academically, it is also raising torchbearers for the nation and the global church .
“Dear graduates, you are leaving this place not just with knowledge , but with a mandate to serve, lead and shine. Whether you stand behind a pilot, sit in a counseling room , let your life preach louder than your words”.
The Alaafin who appreciated the Baptist Convention President and other Baptist leaders in Oyo Baptist Conference who took out time to visit him during seclusion , also reiterated the impact of the Baptist work in Nigeria.
Said he, “I have been a beneficiary of the Baptist work through formal education at the Baptist High School, Saki. Providentially, my coronation took place at the Olivet Baptist High School , Oyo. Moving around Oyo town , you will see the Baptist Churches littered all over the place , bringing spiritual and socio economic growth to the town.
Oba Owoade went further , “” that is why the Alaafin as an institution and a person will continue to accord respect and honour to the Baptist work and institution in Nigeria , Oyo State and Oyo town in particular ”
Highlight of the historic event was the conferment of a royal father award on the Alaafin for his contributions to the College from cradle and to life.
