A statement issued by the office of Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel has strongly condemned recent media reports alleging his suspension from the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing them as “reckless, fabricated and libelous.”
The reports, originally published by Oguninsight and News Across under the headline “EXCLUSIV: Billions, Betrayal, and a By-Election – The Inside Story of Gbenga Daniel’s Suspension from Ogun APC.” The falsehood was further reproduced in Vanguard, PM News and other media outlets on August 24, 2025 under misleading headlines, and has since been irresponsibly spread across social media.
This malicious publication is a deliberate hatchet job aimed at assassinating the hard-earned reputation of His Excellency, Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel – a two-term former Governor of Ogun State, respected statesman and current Senator representing Ogun East.
*We state categorically that :*
The story is a concocted pack of lies with no basis in fact, designed solely to malign the person of Senator Gbenga Daniel.
Senator Daniel has not been suspended from the APC and remains a proud, active and duly elected Senator on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Those behind this smear campaign are desperate mischief-makers and political jobbers who thrive on falsehood and blackmail.
*We hereby demand:*
A full and unreserved retraction of the said false publication.
A bold, public apology in all the newspapers and online platforms where the lies were published.
Immediate deletion of the libelous content from every digital and social platform where it was circulated.
This must be done within seven (7) days. Failure to comply will trigger full-scale legal action. Our lawyers have been placed on red alert to pursue every available remedy in law.
For the avoidance of doubt, let it be clear: Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s towering reputation cannot be diminished by malicious fabrications or gutter journalism.
The office concluded by thanking supporters and urging the public to disregard what it described as a deliberate attempt to malign the distinguished senator.
