The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has commended troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces for repelling a terrorist attack on their camp in Buni Yadi, Yobe State, describing the operation as a demonstration of courage, professionalism and combat readiness.

The foundation, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, said the attack occurred at about 11pm on Thursday, October 29, 2026, when approximately 200 terrorists reportedly launched an assault on the military camp.

According to the statement, the troops responded swiftly, neutralising about 50 of the attackers and recovering a substantial cache of arms, ammunition and other equipment.

The foundation also stated that no casualties were recorded among the troops during the exchange of fire.

It said the operation demonstrated the military’s determination to defend Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protect civilians from terrorism and insurgency.

The statement read in part, “This remarkable operational success demonstrates the unwavering commitment, combat effectiveness and determination of our gallant soldiers to defend Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protect innocent citizens against the threats of terrorism and insurgency.”

The foundation particularly commended the Chief of Army Staff, the Theatre Commander and the Commander of the 27 Task Force Brigade, Buni Yadi, for their leadership, strategic direction and operational supervision.

It said the troops’ intervention had not only protected military personnel but also helped shield civilians from potential violence and human rights abuses by the attackers.

The foundation’s Grand Patron, former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (retd.), also congratulated the soldiers on the reported operational success.

Buratai, according to the statement, acknowledged the risks and sacrifices associated with military service and urged the troops to sustain their fighting spirit, vigilance, discipline and professionalism.

“As a former Chief of Army Staff, His Excellency understands the enormous responsibilities, risks and sacrifices associated with military service. He therefore encourages the troops to sustain this remarkable fighting spirit, operational vigilance, professionalism and commitment to the protection of our nation,” the statement added.

The foundation called on the military to sustain operations against terrorism and other security threats across the country.

It also urged Nigerians to support the Armed Forces, noting that military personnel continued to make significant sacrifices in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

The foundation reaffirmed its solidarity with the military and expressed prayers for the continued protection of troops deployed across various operational theatres.

“Nigeria is proud of your courage, sacrifice and patriotism. Your victory is a victory for our nation,” the statement said.
