With a sense of profound appreciation, I’m wishing the best godfather anyone could have, Senator Ibikunle Iskilu Oyelaja Amosun, a very happy birthday as he clocks 67 today.
For me, knowing this astute politician, has been one of the greatest blessings to my career as an artiste. And the reason is not far-fetched. Apart from making me proud, after using my music talent to support his aspiration to become the governor of Ogun State, which he did for 8 years, and rebuilt our dear state in a way that no one has ever done, and may ever do, he has also been the most understanding politician I know.
And that is because, he clearly understands the very thing line between loyalty and professionalism. Sen. Amosun is one politician that has never frowned at me doing my job by performing for other political parties that come for my services outside his own political party. My godfather would say, “Sefiu, it is your job, go and do it. I trust you, I know where you truly belong.” And that has been one of my driving forces as a Fuji artiste, till date. His high level of undersating is second to none. Trust me.
Therefore, as “Omo Olowu Oduru”, like I always fondly eulogise him in my music, is celebraring his 67th birthday, in good health and sound mind today, I’m heartiily rejoicing with him, and profusely thanking the Almighty Allah for distinguishing him amongst the most celebrated politicians that Ogun State has produced.
And I pray to Almighty Allah to take him even higher in his desire to continue serving Nigerians, and humanity in general. Amin.
