The 40-day Fidau and entertainment event in honor of Late Madam Sidikat Ayoni Akanfe (née Adekola-Raji) took place on February 22, 2025, at TUNROSE3e Gallery, Osota Avenue, Big Daddy Bus-Stop, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos. The event drew family, friends, community leaders, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Madam Akanfe, who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 70.
The solemn yet uplifting event began with the traditional Islamic Fidau prayers, led by a distinguished group of Islamic clerics, including Alfa Moshood Obashola Busaeri Alfulaniy (the group leader), Imam Gafar Jawondo, Alfa Sheu Almisry, and Alfa Ridwan Jawondo. Their prayers offered spiritual comfort and guidance, honoring Madam Akanfe’s devout faith and lifetime contributions to her community.

The event was graced by prominent royal fathers, adding a regal touch to the proceedings. Among the distinguished guests were HRM Oba (Dr.) Olusesan Akingbola, the Olu of Oregun (Kudoro 1), HRM Oba Oluwasegun Adeyemi Ajasa, the Awise of Onigbongbo Land, and HRM Oba Shakirudeen Adeshina Kuti, JP, the Elewu of Ewu Land (Erufa 1). Chief Olufemi J. Ajeniya, the Bobojiro of Ewu Land, was also in attendance, showing solidarity with the bereaved family.
Madam Sidikat Ayoni Akanfe was a beloved matriarch, survived by her children—Taofeek, Yahaya, Abdul Wasiu, Mutiat, Bilikis, and Ramotalahi—who expressed deep gratitude to all attendees for their support. The children shared heartfelt tributes, reflecting on their mother’s unwavering love, strength, and guidance.
Following the prayers, the gathering transitioned into a more celebratory atmosphere with entertainment and light refreshments, allowing guests to share fond memories of Madam Akanfe in a warm and communal setting.


The event served not only as a remembrance but also as a celebration of a life well-lived, embodying Madam Akanfe’s legacy of love, compassion, and community service. Her memory continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
