
Sammek Moments Arts & Cultural Entertainment, popularly known as Sammek Entertainment, has steadily built a reputation as a leading promoter of African arts, culture, and live music in the diaspora. Founded and led by Hon. Samuel Ekundayo, fondly called Mr. Culture, the US-Based company has been at the forefront of showcasing Nigerian and African artistes through concerts, tours, and cultural festivals. Over the years, Sammek Entertainment has managed tours for notable performers such as Laolu Gbenjo, Dotun Future, and Busola Oke, among others, all under its flagship “Festival of Culture” brand.
At a welcome back party yesterday in Lagos at Aroma House of Grills on Allen Avenue axis in Ikeja, Lagos. The duo of Okiki Bright (Brainbox of Music) & Sketo- J Olorin Agbaye (Oga Nla 3) Serenade the guests with top notable music promoters and producer in attendance.
The prominent promoter gave an insightful confirmation about the early days of his musical journey. He revealed that back in 1997, he joined the band of Fuji icon Aare Sir Shina Akanni, alongside two of his friends. He further highlighted that the Fuji star holds the distinction of being the first Fuji artiste to introduce the use of the lead guitar in his band, a landmark that shaped the sound and style of modern Fuji music.
Through Sammek Entertainment, Ekundayo continues to uphold the legacy of innovation and cultural pride, bridging traditional African sounds with international stages, while also paying homage to the pioneers like Shina Akanni who helped redefine the genre.
