Renowned Fuji music icon, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, popularly known as Obesere, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Hon. Dr. Alhaja Funmilayo Akande Muhammed, to commend her outstanding leadership and developmental strides within the local government.
During the visit, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere expressed his heartfelt admiration for the remarkable transformation that has taken place in Apapa Iganmu LCDA under the leadership of Hon. Funmilayo Akande Muhammed. He highlighted how the area, once considered volatile and challenging for entertainers and musicians to host events, has now become peaceful, safe, and welcoming for all.
In those days, Obesere recounted, we musicians would often avoid certain areas when choosing locations for our shows because of the high rate of violence and unrest. Apapa Iganmu LCDA was once one of those areas. But today, coming here and seeing the drastic change, the level of peace, and the numerous road projects being executed by this administration, I must say I’m truly impressed.
The Fuji legend praised the Council Chairman for her dedication to infrastructural development, grassroots empowerment, and youth inclusion, noting that her efforts have repositioned the LCDA as a model of progress and good governance in Lagos State.
