Veteran Nollywood actor Don Richard, popularly known by his stage names Don or Ota (Bullet), has made a heartfelt appeal to the public, revealing his current struggles with health and finances. In a recent interview shared on FeelrightNewsTV’s official YouTube channel, the respected Yoruba film star opened up about his personal challenges and the ongoing support he still seeks from both fans and God.

Known for his strong performances in numerous Yoruba films, Don Richard addressed common assumptions about actors and substance use, stating firmly that he has never smoked or used marijuana at any point in his life. He emphasized that despite being in the industry for decades, he has always stayed away from such habits. However, he admitted that he once used herbal mixtures that contained alcohol, a choice he now regrets. Reflecting on that decision, he said, “The mistake I made was using herbs mixed with alcohol instead of water. Water is far better than alcohol.”
The actor, now facing health-related issues, spoke sincerely about the financial burden of his ongoing treatment. He noted that while many fans are willing to help, they often don’t have direct access to him. “I still need God’s help financially so I can continue to buy my medication,” he said, expressing his hope for more support.
His openness has resonated with many Nigerians, sparking concern and renewed conversations around the welfare of veteran actors. Fans have praised his honesty and called for better systems to support those who have contributed immensely to the growth of Nollywood but are now in need.
