The Headies Awards organisation has announced the inclusion of three new categories to the Headies Awards coming up in 2022.
The announcement was mase on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022, through the its official Instagram account.
The organisation explained that the decision of additional three new categories stemmed from a desire to be more inclusive.
It wrote:
“In the spirit of inclusivity, The Headies Awards adds three (3) new nomination categories to its forthcoming 15th edition”.
“This latest amendment is birthed from critical discussions with key music and creative industry stakeholders to include certain sectors of the Entertainment industry in order to ensure a holistic and well-rounded celebration of deserving music industry talents”.
“Watch this space as we introduce these new categories and their respective nominees.”
The organizers will be announcing the three new categories in the coming weeks, and industry stakeholders and fans will be watching to see which segments of the industry receive nominations.
