Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has officially unveiled the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a new non-profit initiative aimed at nurturing and empowering the next generation of African music creatives.

The foundation was launched during a glamorous event on March 9, 2026, in Victoria Island, drawing a distinguished crowd of leaders from politics, music, and business.

Among the notable guests present were Babajide Sanwo-Olu, music executive Don Jazzy, and Bose Ogulu, alongside singer Darey Art Alade and several other influential figures in Nigeria’s entertainment and creative industries.

Mission To Support African Music Talent :

According to Savage, the foundation is designed to discover, develop, and support emerging African music talent while also strengthening the broader creative ecosystem.

Unlike traditional record deals, the initiative will provide industry training, mentorship, and career development for a wide range of creatives including musicians, producers, songwriters, sound engineers, and music executives.

The program aims to close long-standing gaps in music education, mentorship opportunities, and professional access, especially for young talents who are passionate about building careers in the African music industry.

Partnership with Berklee College of Music :

The foundation’s first flagship initiative is a collaboration with Berklee College of Music, where Savage previously studied.

The program, titled “Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program,” is scheduled to take place in Lagos from April 23 to April 26, 2026.

The fully funded four-day intensive program will train 100 selected participants in areas such as:

Live performance

Songwriting

Music production

Music business and industry strategy

Applications for the program opened in February and recently closed after receiving strong interest from aspiring creatives across the country.

A Legacy Beyond Music :

The launch event in Victoria Island celebrated not just a new foundation, but a new chapter in Savage’s career — one focused on giving back to the continent that shaped her global success.

Videos from the night showed celebrities arriving, the Lagos governor making his entrance, and Savage confidently presenting her vision for the future of African music.

Fans and industry insiders have praised the initiative as a major step forward for Afrobeats and the broader African music industry, with many describing it as a powerful investment in the next generation.

As one supporter at the event put it: “This is a great movement, mummy Jamil.

With this initiative, Tiwa Savage is proving that her impact goes far beyond chart-topping hits — she is now building a platform to help shape the future of African music talent.
