
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos Information Chapel recently organized a memorable novelty football match at the Agidingbi Primary School open field. The event was a dual event – honouring the retirement of Mr. Olumide Sogunle, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, and marking the appointment of Mr. Lanre Bajulaiye as Permanent Secretary, in the Lagos State Public Service.
The match was ceremoniously kicked off by Mr. Olumide Sogunle and Mr. Lanre Bajulaiye, underscoring the camaraderie and mutual respect between them. The event drew directors, ministry staff, and members of the NUJ Lagos Information Chapel, all eager to witness an engaging display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Team Sogunle faced off against Team Bajulaiye in a closely contested match, with Team Sogunle emerging victorious with a narrow 4-3 win over Team Bajulaiye. Mr. Lanre Bajulaiye presented the trophy to Team Sogunle, commending both teams for their exemplary sportsmanship.
The event celebrated Mr. Sogunle’s distinguished career and welcomed Mr. Bajulaiye’s New role but, reinforcing the values of unity, respect, and teamwork within the civil service community.
As Mr. Olumide Sogunle steps into retirement, the memories forged on the football field serve as a testament to the enduring bonds of friendship and professional respect.
