The Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA has mourned the passing of His Royal Majesty, Oba Bashiru Oloruntoyin Saliu, the Oloworo of Oworo Kingdom who joined his ancestors on 30th August, 2021.

In a condolence letter addressed to the family of Oba Saliu, Senator Abiru extolled the great leadership qualities of the departed monarch urging the children, family members and the entire people of Oworo land to take solace in the fact that the deceased lived an exemplary life.
  
Senator Abiru wrote, “Kabiyesi lived an exemplary life as a royal father who placed a premium on education. I was endeared to him when I learnt how he defeated all odds to enroll for a Mass Communication Degree at age 52. 

“The tertiary education he got deepened his knowledge base and reflected in the quality of leadership he provided as monarch. He was a man sold out for knowledge.

“I commiserate with the children especially Honourable (Prince) Babatunde Saliu, the Executive Vice-Chairman of Kosofe Local Government and urged them to take solace in the fact that their departed father died in service to mankind and bequeathed enviable legacies”
