Single mother storms church, pours hot water on married woman
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command say they have arrested a 37-year- old woman Joy Sunday, for allegedly pouring hot water on the face of another woman, Justina Ameh who accused her of sleeping with her husband.
The suspect was reported to have stormed a church, Spring of Life Global Ministry, situated in Giwa area of Agbado, during a vigil with a container of hot water and poured it on the victim, and thus caused her grievous harm.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested after a report of the unwholesome act at Agbado Divisional headquarters of the command by the older sister of the victim, who was at the vigil with her.
The older sister stated further that while she was trying to hold the suspect, she stabbed on her left hand.
Acting on the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Agbado, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, detailed his men to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.

Oyeyemi said during interrogation, the suspect, explained that, the victim has been accusing her of sleeping with her husband for quite some time now, and all efforts to disabuse her mind from it proved abortive.
The suspect, according to the state police spokesman added that on that fateful day, while they were in the church, the victim came as usual and started raining curses on her.
Oyeyemi said the suspect said she tried to walk away from her, the victim pulled her back with her cloth and tore the cloth.
He added, the suspect said, “It was that annoyance that made her to go home and boiled water which she brought back to the church and poured it on the victim’s face.
“When asked whether or not she is dating the victim’s husband, the suspect said she can swear with anything that there is nothing between her and the victim’s husband.”
Oyeyemi said the victim has been taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun has directed that the case be properly investigated with the view of charging it to court as soon as possible.
