The Lagos State chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria ASHIEDU GABRIEL SONGITO has been handed an indefinite suspension.
The suspension was a disciplinary action based on an act of gross misconduct and threat to an electoral committee member at the just concluded national election in benin, Edo State. Ashiedu Gabriel Songito was suspended alongside the Lagos State Chapter Treasurer SHEDRACK ITUA. Both Excos are on indefinite suspension and have been relieved of their position.

The letter of suspension from the BOT also stated that the Actors Guild of Nigeria is a professional body and will not condone any for of intimidation, hooliganism or threat to life
Further investigations revealed that the suspended chairman has a history of threat to members and also complains of alleged financial misappropriation of Guild funds within months in office amongst which is an alleged =N=1,600,0000 collected from one of the guilds new patron without the knowledge of the Excos.
