NO AMOUNT OF INTIMIDATION WILL STOP US
Alleged Arrest of Dissenting Voices in Gboko is Anti-Democratic
The attention of *MKA Rescue Mission 2027* has been drawn to disturbing reports from Gboko alleging that citizens who are not in support of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s second term bid have been harassed and arrested.
If this report is true, then it represents a dangerous descent into political intolerance and a direct assault on our democracy. Such actions are unacceptable in any civilized society, and even more disturbing under a regime led by a Reverend Father who should embody peace, justice, and freedom of expression.
We state categorically:
1. No amount of intimidation will stop us* from speaking truth to power and mobilizing for _A Greater Benue_.
2. Democracy dies when dissent is criminalized. The right to hold and express contrary political opinions is guaranteed by Section 39 of the 1999 Constitution.
3. We call on the Benue State Government, the Nigeria Police Force, and all security agencies to immediately investigate this allegation and release anyone unlawfully detained for exercising their political rights.
Benue belongs to all of us. A government that fears opposition is a government that has lost the confidence of the people.
We urge all supporters of *Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN and members of MKA Rescue Mission 2027 to remain law-abiding, fearless, and vigilant. Document every act of intimidation. We will not be silenced.
