Today, Thursday, 23rd July 2026, marks six months since the passing of our beloved son, husband, father, and gifted musician, Afeez Adeshina Ayinde, affectionately known to many as Destiny Boy.
Born on 24th June 2003, Destiny Boy hailed from the Adeshina family of Odo Rori Compound, Ayetoro Yewa, Ogun State, Nigeria. He was the cherished son of Mr. Adeshina Kamorudeen and Mrs. Saidat Adeshina, whose love and guidance shaped the remarkable young man he became.
Beyond his growing music career, Afeez was a devoted family man. He married Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adeshina, and together they welcomed their son, Adeshina Usman Obatide, on 12th November 2024. To his family, he was a loving husband, a caring father, and a source of immense joy, hope, and pride.
Known for his humility, kindness, and unwavering dedication, Destiny Boy touched countless lives both on and off the stage. Music was more than a profession to him—it was his calling. Through numerous collaborations, performances, and music videos across Nigeria and beyond, he shared his talent with the world while earning the admiration of fans, colleagues, and industry peers alike.
No matter how far his journey took him, Destiny Boy remained deeply connected to his roots. He proudly represented his community and inspired many young people with his passion, perseverance, and genuine character.
Sadly, on 17th January 2026, Destiny Boy’s life was cut short at the age of just 22. He was laid to rest on Friday, 23rd January 2026, at his father’s residence in Odo Rori Compound, Ayetoro Yewa, Ogun State.
Although six months have passed, the pain of his absence remains. Yet, so too do the cherished memories of his infectious smile, his remarkable talent, his generosity, and the unforgettable moments he shared with those who knew and loved him.
While Destiny Boy may no longer be with us physically, his legacy continues to live on through his music, the lives he touched, and the values he embodied. His voice still resonates, his impact remains undeniable, and his memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and continue to comfort everyone he left behind.
