Renowned Yoruba Nollywood actor Babatunde Tayo, popularly known as Baba Tee, has publicly admitted to having a brief sexual encounter with Dara, the wife of popular comedian and skit maker Ganiyu Morufu, also known as Ijoba Lande. According to reports from The Sun Newspaper, the revelation was made during a live interview hosted by socialite Esabod on Sunday, where Baba Tee addressed the controversy that had been swirling around him.
This admission marks a significant turnaround from his previous stance, as Baba Tee had earlier denied the allegations and even challenged Ijoba Lande to substantiate his claims. Lande had accused his wife Dara of infidelity, alleging that over 20 men from the entertainment industry, including Baba Tee, were involved with her. Initially, Baba Tee firmly dismissed the allegations, maintaining that he had only met Dara once the previous year through actress Marygold.
However, during the live interview, Baba Tee admitted to the affair and explained the circumstances that led to it. According to him, the incident occurred during a game of “Truth or Dare” involving himself, Dara, and Marygold. He claimed that Marygold initiated the game and dared Dara to have a brief sexual encounter with him. Baba Tee described how Marygold had gone completely nude and consistently pressured Dara during the game, while Dara, opting to drink alcohol instead of performing other dares, eventually agreed to the challenge.
Reflecting on the situation, Baba Tee stated, “I will not deny that I had a short sexual encounter with her. It is the first time I am saying it. I now realize it was a setup by both of them to damage my reputation.”
Following his admission, Esabod advised Baba Tee to offer a public apology to Ijoba Lande. Taking to his official Facebook page on Monday, Baba Tee expressed remorse, writing, “I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother Lande. I never imagined that Dara was your wife when the incident happened… I fear women.”
The situation has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many fans and colleagues expressing disappointment and others showing support for Baba Tee’s decision to come clean. Meanwhile, Marygold, who served as Ijoba Lande’s manager, is also being implicated in the scandal, as it is believed she recorded the intimate act between Baba Tee and Dara.
