Dotun Olaribigbe, a socialite who was better known as Lobito Disco, has passed away.
The founder of Hariot Promotions died on Thursday, according to reports.
In a post on his social media account, entertainment promoter Bolaji Basia broke the news of the death.
Basia, known for being the best friend of Fuji music star K1 De Ultimate, paid tribute to the deceased by writing “Rest well paddy mi Dotun Olaribigbe (Lobito).”
In the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s, Olaribigbe was a very active participant in various aspects of the social scene.
The juju singer Sir Shina Peters mentioned him on the album Ace that he released in 1989.
In 2017, Olaribigbe ran for the chair of the Surulere Local Government on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He all contested the 2019 senatorial election to represent Lagos Central at the National Assembly on the platform of the Liberation Movement Party.
Olaribigbe was until his death the CEO of Bulls’ eye Security Solutions Ltd.
He died four days before his birthday July 11.
