Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command say they have arrested a 49- year- old man, Amoda Bola for allegedly impregnating his 14-year-old daughter (name withheld).

 

The suspect who was arrested on Wednesday 17th August in Ode Remo area of the state, crime report from the command indicated he had also been inviting men from the town to sleep with the victim for monetary gains.

 

Obviously fed up with the taboo, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi said the victim lodged complaint at the Remo Divisional Headquarters of the command of how her father with whom she had been living with for some years now have been having carnal knowledge of her.

 

According to Oyeyemi, the victim stated further “that her father has also been inviting men to the house to have sex with her after which the men will pay him money.”

 

The Divisional Police Officer, Ode Remo, CSP Olayemi Fasogbon later detailed detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.

 

Oyeyemi said during interrogation, the suspect,who first denied the allegations later confessed when the victim confronted him.

 

He added that his confession led to the arrest of five others who have slept with the victim at different times on the invitation of the father.

 

The other suspects are; Ahmed Ogunkoya(30)  Muyiwa Adeoye (48), David Sunday Solaja(69)  Emmanuel Olusanya (50) and Joshua Olaniran (50).

 

The state police spokesman said all the suspects have confessed having carnal knowledge of the 14 years old girl and paid money to the father.

 

He said further, “The victim, whose mother had separated from the father years back and have been living with with the father was practically turned to a prostitute by her father.

 

“She has been taken to the State Hospital, Isara Remo where it was confirmed that she is pregnant.

 

“The victim has insisted that it was her father who is responsible for the pregnancy being the only person who slept with her within the period she got pregnant.”

 

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police,  Lanre Bankole has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Anti-human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.
