The Elegushi of Ikateland, HRM Oba Saheed Elegushi, has reportedly welcomed a baby girl with his lover, an Edo-born princess called Tonya Lawani.
It will be recalled that we previously reported that Tonya Lawani was pregnant for Oba Saheed Elegushi months ago.
According to sources that Tonya Lawani safely delivered a baby girl a few weeks back in the United States and both the mum and the new baby are doing very well.
City scoop reports that although the monarch was happy that the expectant mum had a safe delivery, it could have been a watershed moment for him if the baby was a boy.
The Oba’s silence since the birth of the new princess has left some tongues wagging – though sources confirmed that the king had visited the US to see the new daughter.
The birth of the princess may have also changed the Oba Saheed Elegushi’s plans of performing any marital rites on the incoming Olori, City Scoop alleges.
Recall that in February this year, he lost his only son and heir apparent to the throne (from Queen Hadiza).
