Normalcy has returned to Ojota Area of Lagos State after a violent clash between some suspected Yoruba Nation agitators and security operatives from the Nigeria Police Force.

 

This clash early Monday allegedly claimed two lives.

 

 

Some eye witnesses who spoke to our crew off camera explained that the suspected Yoruba Nation agitators were protesting in the area when some officers of the Nigerian Police Officers arrived the scene and dispersed them by firing some canisters of tear gas into the air and sprayed water at them.

 

 

The agitators were said to be angered by this development which degenerated into violence.

 

One police officer and another a suspected protester were allegedly killed during the unrest which caused heavy gridlock as many fled in fear for their lives.

 

The Nigeria Police Force Lagos state Command in its reaction warned that anyone found disturbing the peace of the state under any guise will be decisively dealt with according to the law.

 

The Commissioner of police , Abiodun Alabi said the warning has become necessary following the unprovoked and wanton armed attack on police officers in the state
