The All Progressive Congress candidate in 2023 for Kwara Central Senatorial election, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, has given two-bedroom houses each in a semi-detach apartment to widows of the late Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abdulganiy Aboto, who was killed in the flooding that ravaged some parts of Kwara State at the weekend.
It was gathered that the cleric died without a house, leaving behind two wives and 17 children in a rented apartment.
He was also reported to have left only N15,000 in his bank account; attributed to his pious nature despite his popularity and religious status.
In a move to ameliorate the situation, Mallam Mustapha, on Wednesday, announced the donation of the house to the two widows and the children.
The businessman and philanthropist further promised to empower the widows with capital to enable them to begin businesses to support their children.
Similarly, the families of the two aides that died in the accident with the cleric were also supported to ameliorate the agony of losing their loved ones.
The gesture was communicated at Aboto Oja during the fidau on Thursday by Abdulkadir Omo Albarka, a member of the Board of Saliu Mustapha Foundation.
Reacting to the gesture, Imam AbdulRazaq Tonile said that the whole of the Adabiyah family, of which Aboto was a prominent figure, would be forever grateful to Mustapha for the kind gesture.
