When Good Leadership Remembers Its Own
Let me tell you a story that will warm your heart.
Picture this: A bright Saturday morning in Guma LGA, Benue State. The green fields are glowing, the mountains smile in the distance, and peace fills the atmosphere.
Standing in front of a beautiful two-bedroom flat with a green roof and white railings are two men.
On the left is Hon. Maurice Orwough, the Executive Chairman of Guma Local Government Area — dressed in a clean white agbada and cap, with a joyful expression on his face.
On the right is Bar. Akimbo — our own son of the soil, proudly dressed in white KSS attire, wearing his signature smile and sunglasses, holding his phone like a man whose long-awaited blessing has finally arrived.
Then it happens.
Hon. Maurice Orwough stretches out his hand… and drops the keys into Bar. Akimbo’s hands.
“Bar. Akimbo, this is for you. A two-bedroom flat. Your own. No rent. No worries. Just a token of appreciation for representing Guma well.”
Bar. Akimbo receives the keys with tears in his eyes.
The kind of tears that say:
“God has remembered me.”
MY WISHFUL PRAYER
Father Lord, we pray that this beautiful picture becomes a reality, in Jesus’ name.
We pray for Hon. Maurice Orwough, the Chairman of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State.
May God bless him with wisdom, strength, resources, and a heart that remembers those who have served and represented with dedication.
May Hon. Maurice Orwough remember Bar. Akimbo for good.
May he one day say:
“This man has labored. Let us honor him.”
May God use the Chairman to bless Bar. Akimbo with a brand-new two-bedroom flat — not rented, not borrowed, but a permanent home he can proudly call his own.
We pray that the day of the handover will come.
That cameras will flash.
That people will shout:
“Congratulations, Bar. Akimbo!”
That Hon. Maurice Orwough will proudly hand over the keys.
That the home will stand in a peaceful environment, surrounded by greenery, with reliable electricity and water.
A place where Bar. Akimbo will lay his head at night and say:
“My Chairman, Hon. Maurice Orwough, remembered me.”
Lord, continue to touch the heart of Hon. Maurice Orwough and the leadership of Guma LGA.
Bless the Chairman with the resources and wisdom to bless others.
Bless Bar. Akimbo with open doors, uncommon favor, and double honor.
And let this story move from “wish” to “testimony” before the year runs out.
Amen and Amen! 🙏🏽
Let us share this prayer until it reaches the right table.
Who knows?
Maybe Hon. Maurice Orwough will see it and simply say:
“Let’s make it happen.”
Guma to the world!
Hon. Maurice Orwough to the world!
Bar. Akimbo to the world!
