The President, Fuji Musician Association of Nigeria, FUMAN, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Agboola, popularly known as SK Sensation has urged all members of the Association to as a matter of urgency use the remaining few days to register for their Permanent Voters Card, PVC.
The President who boasted over the number of his Association members said he has resolved to mobilize millions of electorate from within FUMAN across the country to register and collect their PVCs to ensure robust participation in the forthcoming general election.
He called on members to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise to enrol for their permanent voter’s card in a statement signed by the Association’s National Publicity Secretary, Adebola Isimijola, popularly known as King Kakaki Safari.
SK Sensation stressed that the over one million Fuji practitioners across the country must be ready to participate in the next year’s election.
The statement read in part;
“The Fuji Musician Association of Nigeria under the leadership of Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Agboola wish to urge all Fuji Music practitioners who is of voting age and yet to register for Permanent Voters Card to as a matter of urgency go and do so now within the period allowed by INEC. That Is between now and 31st, July 2022 Or any date the exercise is extended to by INEC.
“Those that have registered but yet to collect their Permanent Voters Cards, PVC should go and do so immediately and keep them safely for voting during coming elections in 2023 and Beyond.
“All Fuji Musicians in their respective Chapters and Zones should go out enmass to exercise their right in all elections and most especially on 2023 presidential election and vote for candidates who will protect their interests and respect their fundamental human rights as a musician and be just fair to all Nigerians. The person who can maintain the peaceful coexistence of all Nigerians.
“Members that relocated from one locality or another should also go for necessary update of information and urge all their band members to register.”
Agboola enjoined voters to avoid multiple registration which he said would not be recognized and accepted by INEC’s system.
“Where you lost a PVC, try and provide to INEC affidavit indicating details of loss and personal information. Where your registered PVC is no longer clear or defaced due to forceful packaging of same, one can process a new one.
“Note that PVC does not expire and should be used through out the lifetime of voters in Nigeria.” he advised.
While appreciating the electoral umpire for extending the time of voter registration, he called for creation of more PVCs collection points for ease of accessibility by owners.
He however enjoined all members of the Association to resist any form of selling, buying of votes, voter apathy, electoral disturbances, election malpractices among others.
