Activities marking President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration, has commenced. The 11-days programme officially kicked off with a World Press Conference by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

 

 

According to the programme, on Tuesday 23rd May, 2023, there will be Regimental Dinner in honor of the Commander in Chief, Armed Forces Officers Mess at 7:00pm, followed next day Wednesday, 24th May, 2023, by a Valedictory Federal Executive Council Meeting at the Council Chambers, Presidential Villa.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Thursday, 25th May, 2023, invest the President-Elect and Vice-President-Elect with the National Honors of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) and Grand Commander of Order of the Niger (GCON) respectively as well as perform Handover of Transition Documents.

 

Friday 26th May, 2023, is date for Public Lecture and Jumaat Prayer National Mosque by 10:00am and 1:30 pm.

 

On Saturday 27th May, 2023, an Inauguration Lecture on the topic: Deepening Democracy for Integration and Development by His Excellency, Uhuru M. Kenyatta, former President of Kenya, will take place at the International Conference Centre. Same day also has the Children’s Day Program which will include a Parade and Children’s Party

 

An Inter-denominational Church Service, will old at the National Christian Centre by 10:00am on Sunday, 28th May, 2023, and followed with Inauguration Dinner/Gala Night at the State House Conference Centre by 7:00pm.

 

Events will come to a climax on Monday, 29th May, 2023 with the Inauguration Parade/Swearing-In at the Eagle Square by 10:00am.

 

All events according to the SGF, will be broadcast live on all major stations and streamed on various social media platforms. Detailed information including accreditation arrangements, would be provided by the Media and Publicity sub-Committee.
