More flowery feathers will soon be added to the crowded honours cap of Basorun Dele Momodu, Publisher of Ovation International Magazine, and Chairman of the Ovation Media Group, and his delectable wife, Chief Mrs. Mobolaji Abiodun Momodu.

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu 1, and his Council of Chiefs, have decided to confer the prestigious titles of Aare Tayese and Yeye Aare Tayese of Iwoland on the media giant and his wife respectively.

The Royal Father made the Chieftaincy offer to the Momodus through a letter he personally signed, dated August 27, 2021, a copy of which was made available to The Crest.

The Oluwo-in-Council (the throne), said Oba Akanbi, unanimously decided to confer the prestigious titles on the Momodus for their immense contribution to the “promotion of Yoruba culture and tradition”, and “your mental beneficence through national and international media in ensuring that quality governance are delivered” to Nigerians.

Declaring that “We deem you worthy of the titles of Aare Tayese and Yeye Aare Tayese of Iwoland from a paramount ruler of ancient crown from medieval times and one of the national crown in Yorubaland,” Oba Akanbi said he hoped the honours would encourage the Momodus to contribute their quota to helping the throne achieve its vision and mission.
