The President-elect, Bola Tinubu has promised not to disappoint Nigerians while also working hard to justify the confidence reposed in him.

 

Tinubu who appreciated God and the entire people of Nigeria for voting for him in the February 25 presidential election, compared the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary and ten the actual election to a World Cup tournament which was tricky and unpredictable.

 

 

1steleven9jatv.com reports he stated this when he visited the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwanu Akiolu at his Iga-Iduganran Palace. The purpose of the visit was to present Tinubu’s Certificate of Return to Lagosians and the Oba of Lagos.

 

Tinubu was accompanied on the visit by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is also the APC candidate for the March 11 governorship election.

 

According to a statement on Sunday by his media adviser, Tunde Rahman, TInubu reassured Nigerians that he would not disappoint them.

 

“To all the monarchies seated, may God provide you with strong health for you. God will not allow our country to perish. We will not be used as a tool to disgrace you. I will not let you down,

 

 

” he said.

 

“The journey that we embarked upon and we have returned home with a certificate — it is like our own World Cup — and I thank you all for the effort.”

 

Reacting to the visit of the president-elect, Akiolu described Tinubu as a special breed “who is destined for leadership at the very top.”

 

Other traditional rulers gathered at the palace were the monarch of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Oba Saheed Elegushi, and the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal.

 

1steleven9jatv.com recalls the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election after he polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, who had 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes respectively.
