Kunle Rasheed’s recent attempt to defend King Wasiu Ayinde’s dubious claim as the “owner of Fuji music” is laughable and desperate. His flawed reasoning and disregard for historical facts affront Fuji music’s legacy.

The Undisputed Truth :

Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Fuji’s pioneer, consistently attributed its creation to himself. This verifiable history cannot be opinionated. Barrister’s innovative blend of traditional Yoruba music, Apala, Juju, and Sakara captivated audiences for decades.

Rasheed’s attempts to tarnish Osupa’s reputation and question his financial success expose his desperation. It’s ironic that Rasheed accuses Osupa of seeking fame through controversy when Wasiu Ayinde’s claims sparked this debate.

Exposing The Truth :

Wasiu Ayinde lacks lyrical talent but excels as an opportunist, riding on Barrister’s legacy and fabricating his Fuji hierarchy. King Saheed Osupa’s lyrics summarize Wasiu Ayinde’s wealth: “Se t’eyan o’ba ti gbo’na eburu laye n’bi, se ko ni jeun abi se ko ni r’owo mu…” (Wealth gained through deceitful means will never bring true respect).

Debunking False Claims :

Kunle Rasheed’s assertion that music’s primary purpose is entertainment downplays its educational value. Music educates, inspires, and preserves cultural heritage. His statement, “Who needs good lyrics when people can enjoy music without understanding the words?” undermines meaningful lyrics.

Rasheed’s claim that Osupa’s lyricism hasn’t translated into financial success is flawed. Artistic value and commercial success differ. Osupa’s dedication, preservation of Fuji’s legacy, and contributions cannot be measured solely by financial gain.

The True Essence of Music :

Music serves:

1. Cultural preservation and education

2. Social commentary and activism

3. Emotional expression and healing

4. Community building and unity

Reducing music to entertainment overlooks its transformative potential.

Conclusion :

Kunle Rasheed’s defence relies on shaky ground, distorting history and undermining artistic value. Fuji enthusiasts and historians know Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister and King Saheed Osupa’s contributions. We won’t let misinformation tarnish their achievements.

A Word of Caution :

“Beware of Fuji Terminator.” Sisu Lomo mi Jackie yen, dem don cut one of his ears away. If you call for war, you’ll get more than you can chew. Your man will soon meet his Waterloo. “Olohun lo n’se ohun gbogbo, eda kan le ma tiraka.”

Respect the pioneers; honor the legacy.
